500, here we go!

By

Smooth sailing through the five days of stopping my newer dose of levothyroxine of 600 mcg.

Day one today on 500 mcg and all is well.

Happy to have lived through this; happy to have had the courage to do so.

To put things into perspective, I used to take 700 mcg for five years — that is 255,500 mcg per year. The maximum dose of levothyroxine taken by thyroid patients is around 100 mcg, or 36,500 mcg per year.

Now on my new dose of 500 mcg, I will be taking 182,500 mcg per year ; a highly needed rest for my body.

I am expecting a slower heartbeat, well rested sleep, fewer cramps, less anxiety, and less hair fall and muscle loss.

I am not sure I will need to lower to 400 mcg, but I will definitely reevaluate in a couple of months.

Again, I am grateful to be one of the very few who were lucky enough to be treated with high-dose levothyroxine for bipolar disorder (BD).

I raise my voice again and say there is a treatment to many BD patients, and it clearly works, as I am a living proof of it.

I write so that others know about it, and so that eventually more doctors will entertain the thought that orthodox treatments are not enough, or simply do not work.

May every single tormented soul find the light.
